Cantos de Trabajo e’Llano
Consucol Foundation presents Cantos de Trabajo e’Llano. A Colombian-Venezuelan Cultural Heritage for the World, a traveling exhibition that celebrates the a cappella songs that accompany shepherding, herding and milking in the vast plains shared by Colombia and Venezuela.
Passed down from generation to generation, these songs have marked the identity of thousands of llaneros, but today they face the risk of disappearing. As a living testimony of collective memory and regional culture, in 2017 they were included by UNESCO in the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in need of urgent safeguarding measures.
The exhibition has toured emblematic spaces, such as the Casa de la Cultura de Arauca, the Casa de la Cultura de Arauquita, the Espejo de Agua Building of the National University and the Casa Museo del Salto del Tequendama.
